What do we do in the light of the Brexit vote? What do we do in the light of a Trump Presidency?
For some the answer to these questions may be: ‘nothing – let the world catch me if it can, I will assume everything is as normal until I have to face change.’
For others it will be a time of preparation. Brexit and the new administration are coming so let’s get ready?.
If you are celebrating Christmas this year, then I have news for you. If this is just ‘winter season’s greeting time’ then my words will have little meaning.
But if you believe that Jesus Christ was born the Son of God on earth, as foretold by the prophets, then there is an even more definite event awaiting us. That is the Second Coming of Jesus.
Again, it was spoken of many times by the prophets . It was promised many times by Jesus. It is written about in virtually every book of the New Testament.
I put to you the question, therefore: What do we do in the light of Jesus’ Second Coming? This is much more sure even than Brexit or a Trump Presidency.
I hear the summons of the prophet: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.”
I hear the voice of Jesus: “I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
I hear the voice of the apostles: “it is full time now for you to wake from sleep”.
